Sarah and Anthony arrived yesterday lunchtime and had a night in a lovely hotel directly behind the windmills. As they were on their honeymoon we thought it would be a nice surprise which  gave them a day on their own to explore Mykonos together. When they came to us today we were thrilled to see them. We do miss our family and it is always wonderful to have them visit us on our trips. As the wind forecast was favourable we departed Mykonos during the afternoon and motored south and then east along the southern coast of the island. Our plan was to have a night in the sheltered bay of Kalafatis which we had visited the day before by car. Passing many wonderful bays with busy beaches, Kalafatis was a good choice and we were able to drop anchor in a nice position not too far from the shore. There was a hotel nearby and the lounges, sun umbrellas and watersports on the beach catered for their guest’s enjoyment. This also provided us some entertainment watching all the thrillseekers being pulled around the bay at high speed on various large inflatable devices. Anthony was very pleased to be able to have a waterski too, which he thoroughly enjoyed. He impressed us with his talent on one ski gliding through the wake and manageing to have the strength to keep going for so long!! We opted for the swimming from the boat which was less strenuous. In the evening we chose to enjoy the only waterside taverna called Thalassa for our first dinner together. We had a great night here enjoying the fabulous food, great service and a to top it off being in such a lovely location.
