16th September 2013 Cakilkoy to Cam Limani, Heybeliada Is (Princes Islands) The Tractors are Out Early this Morning Large Piles of Old and New Nets Litter the Quays in the Cakilkoy Harbour A Well Laden Fishing Boat Returns to the Port The Inner Port in Cakilkoy The Local Mosque with It’s Twin Minarets Our Departure from Cakilkoy Port While Motoring Towards Imrali Adasi we Discovered it was a Penal Colony with a 3 Km Exclusion Zone Changing Course Towards the Princes Islands Near Istanbul, Our Radar Showed the Extraordinary Number of Boats Ahead of Us Many of the Freighters that were in the Marmara Sea Near Istanbul were Making Their Way to the Black Sea Glimpses of the Asian Side of Istanbul, North of the Princes Islands The Turkish Navy Always has a Presence in the Marmara Sea Looking Back at the Fleet of Freighters on the Horizon Istanbul has Now a Population of Approximately 15 Million People Approaching Heybeliada Island Which is Part of the Princes Island Group which are Quite Close to Istanbul Entering the Circular Bay, Cam Limani in the South of the Island It is Hard to Believe that this Quiet Secluded Bay is Only a Few Miles from the Heart of Istanbul Only a Couple of Other Boats Remain in the Bay by Late Afternoon A Tranquil Scene Looking South Out of the Bay Shrimps Again Tonight !!
