6th May 2014 Kamariotissa, Samothraki Island to Port Thasos, Thasos Island
Early Morning we had to Vacate the Quay as a Large Ferry was due to Dock where we had Stayed OvernightAlthough there was still Quite a Strong Wind Blowing we made a Decision to Leave the Port and Motor to ThasosWith the Wind Directly Behind us the Journey was Quite Comfortable
There Appears to be Marble Mines on Thasos IslandWe Arrive in the Thasos PortPort Thasos was Built on the same Site as the Ancient CityThe Entrance to the New Harbour of Port ThasosWe Decide that the Old Harbour would be a much Nicer Experience for usWhat a Beautiful Little Port !!The Old Port Looked Quaint and InvitingAll the Local Small Fishing Boats are Moored HereOnce Docked we had Small Fishing Boats on Either Side of usIt Took a While with Several Helpers to Work out the Power and Water on OfferDirectly at our Stern was a Cafe and Nearby were Several TavernasA Local Fisherman Heading Out for a Late CatchTangaroa in ThasosA Metre from the Boat we Dined at the Mythos RestaurantFor Starters we Enjoyed Mussels, Beans in a Sauce and Dolmades with TzatzikiStuffed Peppers, Pork Chops and Fish were Our Choices TonightIt wouldn’t be Greece if there were no Cats at your Feet in the Tavernas !!Samothraki Island to Thasos Island
