2019-09-23 Stiniva Bay, Hvar Island to Soline Bay, St Klement Island, Croatia

Overnight we had company tied up along the pier in Stivina Bay
The larger vessels anchor well out in the bay
Before departing, we take a last swim around the beautiful bay
Late morning we pull up the anchor and make our departure from Stivina Bay
We head around to the southern coast of Hvar Island
A short distance to the southwest of the town of Hvar is St Clement Island where we intend to anchor overnight
We head back to a bay we are very familiar with in the south west of St Klement Island
Once safely anchored in Soline Bay it was time to have some lunch
Soline Bay is a very secure anchorage and also has jetty access to a number of small family restaurants
Being so late in the season there are very few boats in the bay
In June, July and August one would have to book a table in the restaurants after securing a mooring in the bay
One of the local fishermen returning to the bay
John and Mary seem to be enjoying exploring our favourite bays
Heading ashore for dinner, we approach the small jetty that hasn’t changed since our first visit here in 2008
The rocky uneven path to the small restaurants has not changed
As Paradiso Restaurant was considerably closer than our favourite one (Dionis) we decided to try it out for a change
We were pleasantly surprised with the delightful setting of the restaurant
The view looking towards the bay was certainly very nice
Time to make some dinner choices
Tonight’s menu
We try the house wine which is served in most of the Croatian restaurants. It is usually very good, as is this one
For starters we sample the delicious grilled octopus
The grilled fresh seabass with vegetables was a good choice for us all
The men decided on something sweet and delicious for dessert
