2019-09-11 Kremena Cove, Lastovo Island to Tri Luke Bay, Korcula Island, Croatia

Another clear morning in beautiful Lastovo island
Ric and I set off for our morning swim
After pulling up our anchor we slowly leave the pleasant anchorage we enjoyed overnight
Cruising around Croatia one sees many submarine tunnels such as this one in Kremena Cove. These tunnels, built to hide submarines, are reminders of the military past that was endured by this country. Many of the Croatian islands have these inconspicuous tunnels which today are explored by sailors and used for shelter for fishermen in the winter
A couple of other sailors slowly make their way out of the bay too
Looking back to the beautiful Lastovo Island as we make our way to the much larger Korcula Island situated due north
Approaching the south western coast of Korcula Island which is roughly 25 km (13.5 nautical miles) from our anchorage in Lastovo
We make the decision not to travel too far today and decide to anchor in a lovely bay on the southern western corner of the island of Korcula called Tri Luke Bay
Tri Luke Bay has a quiet little village with a number of houses overlooking the water. In summer months some of the houses are rented to holidaymakers wanting a quiet, secluded holiday yet close enough to the popular town of Vela Luka
Another swim is on the menu for us this afternoon
With such clear clean warm water ….. how could anyone resist!!
A wonderful full moon tonight
