2019-08-21 Amalfi Port to anchoring off Grand Hotel Tritone, Amalfi Coast, Italy
We have had a wonderful position overnight moored along the port wall in the town of AmalfiWe have made the decision to leave the port this morning as the weather today is very hot and perfect for anchoring out and doing a lot of swimmingOnce out of the Port of Amalfi we continue north east up the coastThe Amalfi Coast is a stunning area of ItalyAmazing houses, castles and hotels cling to the steep cliffs of the coastWe pass the ancient town of Maiori which has the longest unbroken stretch of beach on the Amalfi coastlineSpiaggia Cavallo Morto a popular sheltered bay has too many boats for our liking so we continue further along the coastThe scenery is certainly very spectacular along this rugged beautiful coastNot being able to find a suitable large enough bay to anchor, we turn around and decide to head back along the coast to where we had anchored briefly the previous dayWe continue back past the lovely town of Amalfi where we had a berth overnightPassing Il Duoglio Spiaggia a very popular beach with a unusual bar and several restaurants ashoreThe GAS barThe Grand Hotel Il Saraceno in Conca dei MariniFiordo di Furore is a popular tourist attraction along the coastMarina di Praia again looks quite crowded on the tiny beachLeft of the Minerva Tower overlooking the water is the Africana Famous Club which is a modern disco club built in an ancient settingContinuing south west we head towards the islet, Scoglio dell’IscaThe narrow coast road along the Amalfi Coast is well known to be one of the narrowest and busiest roads in ItalyHotel BellavistaWe return to the lovely anchorage below the Grand Hotel Tritone
