Another perfect day on the beautiful Amalfi CoastNice memories again of a wonderful dinner at Maria Grazia last nightWe depart from Marina del Cantone to continue east towards PositanoLooking back towards Capri and Scoglio Vetera in the foregroundIn the distant we see town of PositanoThere are some beautiful little coves and beaches along the coastWe pass a group of three small islands off the coast of Colli di Fontanelle, with Il Gallo Lungo being the largest islandApproaching PositanoPositano is one of the most popular and stunning destinations of the beautiful Amalfi CoastThe beach at Positano in the summer months is always extremely crowded with hardly a lounge chair and umbrella freeWe continue a short distance along the coast to find a suitable place to anchor for a few hoursWe anchor nearby off Arienzo Spiaggia LiberaAshore is the Arienzo Beach Club which advertises a “Scenic beach with restaurant service”Our family are off on the paddle board to explore …. as per ususalOn the eastern side of the beach is a stunning home with a magnificent garden and groundsTime to go for a swim and check the anchorPositano is only a short distance awayWe check out Arienzo BeachEveryone returns to the boat for some lunch under the front awningMore swimming and crazy diving in the afternoonBy 3 pm we decide to pull up the anchor and continue along the coast to the Amalfi Port where we have booked a berth for two nights On the way to Amalfi we pass numerous amazing hotels and villas such as the Grand Hotel Tritone which was built precariously on top of a very high cliff overlooking the seaWe pass by Vettica Maggiore and PrianoChiesa Parrocchiale di San Gennaro a beautiful church in district of PraianoThe 800 year old tower stands overlooking Marina di PraiaEvery beach along the Amalfi Coast seems to have standing room only!!Next we pass San MichelePassing by Torre Capo di Conca The popular Il Duoglio Spiaggia at the base of massive cliffs, is situated only a couple of kilometers from the town of Amalfi, our destinationFinally Amalfi comes into viewEntering the Amalfi PortWe were fortunate to still have the name and phone number of the port operator from our last visit here a few years prior. Again at a reasonable cost, we were able to secure a couple of nights tied up along the town wall of Amalfi PortHotel La Bussola located by the water opposite our mooring is where we first stayed on the Amalfi Coast with friends in 2003 for a few days when travelling around Italy We have a great view of Amalfi from our mooringAnthony, Sarah and Betsey are off to explore the town
