This morning we take our dinghy and go ashore to the town of Puerto de RosesThis seaside town in the Province of Girona was believed to be founded by Greek colonists from Rhodes in the 8th century BCPuerto de Roses has a large marina which holds approximately 500 boatsWith a population of approximately 20,000 people, Puerto de Roses is an important fishing port and tourist centreJuly and August are the busiest months for visitors to the lovely town
The Tangaroa has had a good sheltered position in the bay overnight moored close to a group of yachts also on anchorWater sports and sailing are popular in the bayIt is always nice to go ashore and visit some of the small towns on the coasts while cruisingWe decide to spend another night in Puerto de Roses
