This morning a walking tour of the old part of Havana has been organised for us with a private guide
We leave the Hostal Luz and follow a neighboring street in the direction of Plaza Vieja
We pass the popular La Vitrola Bar where we had a quick dinner the previous evening
We arrive at the 16th-century Plaza Vieja which has always been a residential rather than a military, religious or administrative space, and is still surrounded by elegant colonial residences
Over the past 150 years, Plaza Vieja has played host to an open-air food market, a park, an outrageously misjudged car park built by Batista in 1952 (now demolished) and an amphitheatre.
