Unfortunately today it was time to say goodbye to our Peruvian family and fly to our next destinationAfter a slight hiccup with our flight we finally board a Latam Airlines flight to CuscoThe flight which took about an hour flew us over some amazing barren mountainous terrainLanding in Cusco, south east of LimaSituated 3,400 m above sea level the former Inca capital of Cusco is one of the most popular destinations in PeruIt was great to have a local representative collect us at the airportPierina and driver EfrainFrom Cusco airport we are driven north for over an hour to our accommodation in the Sacred ValleyThe scenery we passed on the way was absolutely stunningWe pass through some small towns Just before dark we arrive at the Inkaterra Hacienda Hotel A fabulous view of the surrounding mountains can be enjoyed from the front of the hotelOnce we check into the hotel we head towards our roomIn the internal courtyard there are a couple of small shops selling these gorgeous rugs and clothingOur wonderful accommodation A delightful large sitting area in the main building of the hotelThe bar looks inviting!!The restaurantAfter a lengthy day of travelling it was time to try out the restaurantTonight we try a vino tinto from ArgentinaBeef tenderloin with some interesting sauces was my choiceRic enjoyed a slightly different beef dish served with french fries and riceAn earth to table concept is operated at the hotel where the vegetables and herbs are grown in a 10 acre organic plantation nearbyAn amazing choice of desserts was on the menu!!
