2018-08-22 Punta Alta to Punta des Carritx, Isla Formentera , Islas Baleares, Spain

Early morning before the crowds arrive we decide to return to the eastern side of the islands
We anchor in a fabulous position very close to the sandbar between the two islands

Lots of boats started arriving late morning
Between the two islands of S’Espalmador and Formentera there is a sandbar that in places is less than a metre underwater

The turquoise water was so crystal clear here, no wonder it is such a popular anchorage
By late morning once again there was hardly room for another boat to anchor on the popular western side of the sandbar
Looking back to the island of Ibiza, the main town also called Ibiza, can clearly be seen

On our port side we had some good company during the afternoon
Fortunately we chose the quieter side of the sandbar
Interesting cloud formations appearing from the south

We swim ashore and take a long walk along the beach

Looking towards the Tangaroa

The water police are on duty today checking boat documents
One by one the multitude of boats start departing as the day draws to an end

Another lovely sunset

Pasta with a fresh tomato and seafood sauce on the menu aboard tonight
