2018-08-01 Marina Menorca, Mahon, Menorca, Islas Baleares, Spain

After spending the day catching up on some book work, in the evening we decided to go out
Not far from Marina Menorca is a very popular tapas bar

The local gin factory which produces the wonderful Xoriguer Mahon Gin is on the main road along the foreshore
Next we pass Pedro’s boat Services, which is well known in Mahon and has been going for over 40 years … Ric has been a good customer
Further along the foreshore are numerous restaurants and cafes

We arrive at El Muelle, a restaurant that our new acquaintances from the Fornells, Nico and Montse had recommended
Being a very hot and humid evening we chose to sit inside where the air conditioner was functioning

We start off with a refreshing glass of bubbles and a beer
No entree tonight thank goodness! I ordered the steak with vegetables which was outstanding and cooked to perfection
Ric decided on the specialty of the house, the roasted suckling pig which he enjoyed very much
For once we ordered two desserts, a chocolate crepe with ice ream
…… and chocolate mouse, rich but both delicious
We leave El Muelle to return to the boat however we would certainly recommend the restaurant for it’s excellent food (especially meat) and very good service
We return along the foreshore passing the many restaurants all busy with the many visitors to Mahon at this time of the year
We arrive back at the boat a more respectable time of 11.30 this evening
