Tonight we take our friend Ricci to dinner as a thank you for all the extra work he has helped us with on the TangaroaCanbatiste is the restaurant attached to a small boutique hotelWe have heard the food was very good here and the restaurant itself was very nice alsoWe decide to try the chef’s choices menu…….our first dish that arrived were the olives marguerita…..followed by a couple of amazing local fresh oystersAs usual we sample one of the local vino tintosThis wine had the most amazing nose and accompanied our small dishes beautifullyAll the dishes were beautifully presentedRaw monkfish with avocado…wonderfulAmazing local cockles served with a wonderful sauceWe tried the sea slugs which were surprisingly tastyThe deep fried cuttlefish served on a spool were amazingNext we were served a seafood risotto with Norwegian lobster and shrimpsGrilled monkfish with grilled vegetables was the last of the main dishesThe cheese course came next with local white cheese served in parcels to be devoured together…..they just melted in the mouthA refreshing palate cleaner came nextWe order a dessert wine to accompany the next courseThis quite sweet amazing wine is produced in the Terra Alta wine area which is quite close to Sant CarlesOur final dish is a luscious mocca chocolate pudding served with whipped cream
