Looking back to our berth for the past few daysSuch a wonderful time of the morning to catch the early light
Goodbye to the lovely town of CarloforteThe small privately owned island, Isola PianaIsola Piana, as many small islands have a tuna industry background. Today it has been developed into a tourist resortEarly morning haze over the power plant on the Sardinian coast nearbyIt wasn’t long before we were greeted by a few friendly, playful dolphinsThey swam with us for a few minutes before moving on to have breakfastAnother early riser!This morning the conditions for travelling are perfectWe pass Buggerru with it’s unwelcome nameWith such wonderful conditions and wind forcasted for the next few days we decide to continue as far as possible, knowing we have visited this coast by carAs we continue up the coast we pass the Golfo di Oristano and the ancient site of Tharros, which we visited recentlyFinally we arrive in Bosa after 8.5 hours of travellingThe main harbour of Bosa, Port CommercialeWe continue north around the breakwater by Isola RossaIsola Rossa which is attached to the point, is a popular spot for fishing and enjoying the sunOnce past the breakwater we approach the riverFiume Temo is the river by Bosa which is navigable for around 800mWe organise a berth at Nautica Pinna Marina on the left as we enter the Temo RiverWe were welcomed by Daniel, who we found out later was one of the three brothers that own the marinaWe were given a very nice berth along the outer pontoonDaniel from the marina told us about the wine festival and offered to drive us up to ‘Festa del VinoThe Festa was set up on the inclining road which leads to the castle that overlooks the townThis was the final day of the Festa as it was on all weekendWe sampled several wines during the afternoonWe enjoyed trying some sparkling wines tooA lovely view of the town from the FestaNot only wine is sampled here at the festa, specialty foods, meats and cheeses are available for sampling and purchasing tooThe strawberries had amazing flavour so we bought a tray for only 8 EuroWe bought several jars and bottles of Franca and Alberto’s delicious productsA quiet bystander!!Ric purchased a few bottles from these guys as we were leavingIt was time to leave with arms laden with wine, cheeses, walnuts, olives, strawberries and Franca’s specialties. A call to Daniel and in no time he arrived to collect us and return us to the marina
