2016-05-21 Club Marinatour, Carloforte, Isola di San Pietro, Sardinia Today the sky is clear and the weather has warmed up nicely A great day to go and explore a little further with our bikes We ride along the main tree lined boulevard, Via Roma by the water Then out to the very long seawall This would be a very popular walk for the locals especially in summer With seating all the way out, no doubt a good place to sit with family or friends in the early evening, as they do in Italy during the very hot weather A great view of the town from the seawall The port entrance Nearby is the local fishing port Tourists admiring the striking pink bush It was definitely one of the most photographed stairways in Carloforte The marble staue of King Carlo Emanuele stands proudly on Via Roma We stop for a quick coffee and sandwich at one of the local cafes Heading west out of town towards the lagoons We had heard there were flamingos in the lagoons It was a wonderful sight seeing so many flamingos The small river by the town The locals all seem to have their special spots for their small boats The Carloforte war memorial We ride back through the elegant houses … and through the narrow streets The Chiesa di San Carlo Borromeo The Tangaroa in Club Marinatour, Carloforte It has been a very clean, pleasant, well located and friendly marina to have a few days in Ric is the chef tonight Our Aussie barbecue works well on the Tangaroa A good sized steak to share with salad and Ric’s chips Leave a Reply Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
