Looking back at Porto Azzurro as we take a taxi to the town of Capoliveri which is nearbyThe old hilltop town of Capoliveri is quite charming with it’s pedestrian only streets and narrow lane waysRistorantes are numerous however quieter now most of the Italian tourists have returned to workQuite a few tourists from Germany are on holidays with their children in Isola Elba at the momentAn interesting pastime of selling the odd cigarette!!Colourful houses staggered on the hill capture a glimpse of the water in the distance

Ric spots a nice icecream shopWe return to Porto Azzurro by the same taxi driver, as we were not patient enough to wait for the busThe fort, which today is used as a jail overlooks the town of AzzurroA couple of restaurants are built over the water in the main harbour of Porto AzzurroThere even is a small beach complete with umbrellas and deck chairs
The unpretentious town of Azzurro is quite charming with it’s cafes, ristorantes and shops, all at close walking distance
After some retail therapy we return to our dinghy which we had left locked up by the harbourA group of local fishing gentleman spend the late afternoon chatting and fishing on the main town pierTime to head back to the boatA cold collation for dinner tonightLouis Vuitton seems to be following us around the MediterraneanThe clouds are beginning to darken in the horizon
At 8 pm the heavy thunder shower began which was accurately predicted by the weather forecasters to the minute!!
