After a long day visiting 2 ancient sites in the extreme summer heat it was nice to get back to an airconditioned boat and have a cool drink looking across the water to Mount Vesuvius

In the morning we all were pleased to see that the fire was contained overnight and that the houses on the hill were still standing

Fortunately the wind direction last night kept the fire away from the restaurants and buildings in the town

We make a very early start for our trip to Castellammare di Stabia where we have booked a berth for a couple of nights
