We departed the ancient town of Kas and motored the short distance of around 4 miles to the small Greek island of Kastellorizon or Megisti as it is also know. It is the easternmost Greek Island with the next closest, Rhodes which is 70 miles west. Although we had been here only a few weeks prior, we wanted to show our friends to this beautiful place. The old port is quite spectacular to enter with it’s brightly painted and well maintained houses surrounding the rectangular bay. There are a few delightful restaurants and cafes by the water which offer good Greek cuisine. With a population of only a couple of hundred people, they mostly depend on the tourist dollar. It is a fact that if the population dwindles to under 85 people the island will revert back to Turkey. Kastellorizon is a photographers paradise and it is hard only post a few photos!!!
