Friday 27th April 2012 Amsterdam to Brugge, Netherlands

On arrival in Amsterdam in the early hours of the morning we collected our Opal station wagon hire car and departed for our journey to Brugge in Belgium. We needed the larger vehicle to accommodate our oversized parcel containing our precious new table (built in Tas) for the Tangaroa. The weather on arrival was cool, only 10 degrees with an expected top of around 15. Every pieces of warm clothing we had packed came in handy (unfortunately there weren’t many). Ric, the driver and navigator drove us via Rotterdam to Brugge, stopping at several coastal towns on the way. When we finally arrived at our destination we checked into a great little boutique hotel called Hotel Portinari. Hearing the forcast for the evening and the following day was to be rainy, we decided to made the most of our afternoon checking out the sights of Brugge. Although tired, we managed to walk for miles and even take a canal cruise!!! What a delightful old town with a lot of interesting history, including the movie!!!
