Tuesday 1st May 2012 Amsterdam, the Netherlands to Preveza, Greece
With only very few hours sleep we checked our luggage in at 3.30am for our 5.45am direct flight to Preveza in Greece. As Transavia Airlines are very strict with weight and hand luggage quantity, we were pleased we spent some time earlier sorting ours out.. On arrival we hired a car and went to the Ionian Marina to have a look at the Tangaroa before checking into a local hotel called “The Captain’s House”. Really delightful small hotel run by lovely friendly people. We spent the afternoon back at the boat sorting out things aboard and organising it’s launch back in the water. As the time had slipped by so quickly we stopped for dinner at the local Taverna called Pano’s, which is where all the yachties dine as it is walking distance from the 3 marinas in the area. Our quick stop for dinner ended up a few hours in duration as we met quite a few people there doing the same cruising as we are. Some were from the UK, others were from Holland and Austria. All had recently arrived to start the new season of cruising and were also preparing their boats for departure.
