20th June 2014 Skiathos to Newcastle, England

We departed the Meltemi Hotel and caught a Thomas Cook direct flight to Newcastle which is situated on the mid eastern coast of England. On our arrival we collected a hire car at the airport and proceeded to drive toward the city centre which was only a few kms away. We drove around the city before checking into our accommodation at the Staybridge Suites, which were conveniently situated very close to the Tyne River with it’s incredible bridges and modern surrounding buildings. Although our stay was a very short one, it was quite an amazing experience strolling along the Tyne River by night with the mirrored water reflecting all the lights!! The well known Gateshead Millennium Bridge in Newcastle is a tilt bridge which looked spectacular by both day and by night. Our late dinner this evening was at a popular Indian restaurant called Rasa on Queen Street.
