1st May 2013 Gokkaya Limani, Kekova to Icagiz, Kekova
One of the most memorable early mornings was experienced this morning at Gokkaya Limani. The tranquil scenery and the most amazing reflections of the surrounding hills were literally quite outstanding. Following the usual swimming exercise for the day we pulled up the anchor and made our way back west toward Kekova Island and then later into the enclosed and sheltered bay of Icagiz situated behind the castle at Kalekoy. After circumnavigating the long narrow bay we dropped anchor by the old town. In the evening we went ashore by dinghy and chose to have dinner at the Onur Restaurant. A friendly young Turkish man called Turguy took our ropes as we arrived by dinghy. He actually runs the Onur Restaurant and is also the host and when we found out he spoke 5 languages we were suitably impressed. Not only does he have this ability but he also ran an impressive, immaculately tidy and clean restaurant. The table of Mezes were of the highest standard and the seafood starters and grilled fish were perfectly cooked. We will certainly return when we have our guests with us in a couple of weeks.
