2018-08-27 Cala d’Hort to Cala Conta, Ibiza, Islas Baleares, Spain

After a pleasant couple of days in Cala d’Hort we decide to have a change of scenery

As we leave the bay we pass Restaurant Es Boldado where we dined the previous evening

Cala d’Hort is one of our favourite anchorages in Ibiza

As we continue north up the west coast we pass numerous large white villas perched high up on the cliffs

Every time we pass these villas with their conspicuous domes, they remind us of Greek synagogues

Just north of Cala d’Hort is a small sheltered beach called Carla Carbo Beach

Further north we pass the popular holiday spot called Cala Vedella

There are some wonderful small sheltered sandy beaches all around Ibiza

Another of our favourite spots on the coast is Cala Tarida

Cala Tarida is also one of the most popular anchorages on the west coast of Ibiza

The crystal clear turquoise water is great for swimming

Cala Tarida is well developed with several upmarket holiday apartment blocks

There are also exclusive restaurants and bars overlooking the water in Cala Tarida

A cluster of typical Balearic boat sheds can be found nestled into a sheltered part of the bay of Cala Tarida

Continuing up the coast we stop in the attractive small bay of Cala Codolar

Cala Codolar with it’s crystal clear waters again is a great place to have a swim

The narrow quaint bay is flanked by the most amazing rock formations

After another refreshing swim we continue up the coast

Overlooking the sea just south of Cala Llentia is a sculpture called “Time and Space”created by artist Andrew Rogers

Approaching Cap des Bou and Cala Conta

A spectacular mansion situated on Cap des Bou …. believed to be owned by a wealthy Russian businessman

We briefly stop on the southern side of the very popular busy Platages de Comte

As there is a shallow sandbar between the nearby islands and the coast we head around the islands to get to the northern anchorage

It is amazing what one sees regularly in the Mediterranean !!

We pass through between Illa Sa Conillera and Illa des Bosc using our depth sounder as there are also shallow areas between the islands

The northern anchorage of Cala Conta is perfect for the pleasant weather conditions we have been having

Cala Conta is one of the most popular beaches in Ibiza

Although the beach is quite narrow, there is a sand spit that extends out which is prime position for sun worshipers

Water sports of all kinds are happening here!!

We decide to anchor here for the night

Nearby are the typical boat sheds built into the landscape

The water in this bay is the clearest you can find in the Balearics

As sunset approaches, groups of people gather by the restaurants and along the shore to get a good vantage point to watch the sun go down
