2018-07-10 Bahia de Alfacs, Costa del Azahar, to Ensa de Sas Hortigas, Mallorca, Islas Baleares, Spain As planned we make a 6 am start for our long journey to the western tip of Mallorca At around 6.40 am the sun makes a speckled appearance in the horizon over the sea A passing ship is almost swallowed up by the rising sun At breakfast time we have some playful visitors arrive After several minutes of frolicking at our bow they tire and disappear A lone sailing yacht was the only vessel we saw during our trip We were fortunate we decided to wait a couple of days to depart as the conditions for our crossing to Mallorca was absolutely perfect In the distance we see another pod of dolphins heading towards our boat Today is the first time we have seen dolphins this year Once again at the bow they take it in turns leading the pack After nine and a half hours of motoring we near the western tip of Mallorca and the outer lying island of Isla Dragonera As we head north east up the coast we pass several larger motor yachts Not far up the coast we approach one of our favourite anchorages Looking back along the rugged coastline of western Mallorca Once again we anchor in Ensa de Sas Hortigas by Punta de na Foradada On the Punta de na Foradada stands an ancient lookout A road follows this coast and a visitor rest area has been developed by the ancient torre There is just a handful of boats here in the bay today After our long trip we couldn’t wait to get into the warm clear water We enjoy an early dinner tonight of pasta with a freshly cooked tomato sauce Leave a Reply Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
