Friday 17th August 2012 Pamukkale to Gocek Many Fields of Sunflowers, Stoned Fruit and Grapes for the Wine Industry are Grown in this Area The Limestone Mountains Look Incredible On Our Way Back to Gocek we Visited the Ancient Site of Aphrodisias A Collection of Sarcophagi Found at the Ancient Site The Monumental Gateway to the Sanctuary of Aphrodisias Our First Glimpse of the Amazing Stadium which was Built in the 1st Century A.D. and Holds 30,000 People This is Reputed to be the Best Preserved and One of the Largest Ancient Stadiums in the World In 400 A.D. the Eastern End of the Stadium was Turned into an Arena to Host Roman Style of Entertainment The Well Preserved Bishop’s Palace The Large Building of Hadrian’s Bath is having Major Restoration Done at the Moment The Workmen Very Busy with Their Wheelbarrows at the Southern Agora The Theatre Housed 7000 in Ancient Times The Aphrodisias Museum Many Wonderful Pieces Collected from the Aphrodisias Site on Display in the Museum Many Statues were Uncovered and are also on Display The Museum has Been Specially Built at the Site to House and Preserve the Huge Quantity of Statues and Other Antiquities Found at the Site The Tradespeople Working on Our Boat in our Absence had not Completed the Job so We had a Night in the Yagmur Hotel in Gocek Back to the Can Restaurant for Another Great Fillet Steak with Pepper Sauce Leave a Reply Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
