Sunday 22nd July 2012 Cokertme to Global Sailing Marina Our English Neighbours for a Night Goodbye Cokertme Heading Further East up the Gokova Channel Passing by Cleopatra’s Beach A Gulet Passing by Snake Island A Great Spot to Swim Near Gokova Gokova Town with Thousands of People Enjoying the Beach So Many Kite Surfers Taking Advantage of the Breeze Near Gokova Back to Castle Island Plenty of Gulets at Castle Island for the Afternoon The Remains of the Kistak Church Built Around 500AD Looking Towards the Old Harbour and all the Day Tripper Boats The Sheltered Cleopatra’s Beach at Castle Island Nobody is Allowed on the Beach!! Reason is to Preserve the Pure Sand How Lucky are we Australians!! Legend has it that Cleopatra had this Beach Constructed with the Sand Being Shipped from the Sahara Desert The Ancient Ampitheatre on the Island The Theatre Built in Ancient Times had Amazing Views Over the Water The Ampitheatre Overlooks the Old Harbour, Snake Island and Beyond to Gokova Limani The Remains of Part of the City Wall on Castle Island The Water is Emerald Coloured Here by the Apollo Sanctuary Not a lot Remains of the Sanctuary Today Many Remains of the City Wall Circa 4th Century BC can be Seen Around Castle Island The Gokova Yacht Club, Sogut Bay The Galley Restaurant at the Club The Menu at The Galley Very Nice Local Shiraz Finally a Lovely Peppered Steak on the Menu Leave a Reply Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
