This morning we take the hop on hop off train around Granada
The tourist train weaves it’s way through the town passing many churches and interesting buildings
Once we arrived at the Alhambra it was a good opportunity to leave the train and return to our hotelWe have been very pleased with our choice of accommodation in Granada as the hotel not only has commanding views of Granada but is also in close walking distance to the main tourist attractionIn the afternoon we relax on our balcony and enjoy the wonderful views over the city, mountains and the AlhambaThe Sierra Nevada looks amazing with it’s year round cover of snow
The Cathedral of Granada clearly dominates the low lying townThe buildings of the Alhambra can clearly be seen from our generous baconyEarly evening we take a taxi to the Albaicin area of GranadaSpectacular views of Sierra Nevada with the Generalife of Alhambra in the foregroundThe Mirador de San Nicholas faces the AlhambraAt sunset especially, crowds of visitors line the walls overlooking the famous siteOn the hill nearby, in front of the old church crowds have assembled to view and photograph the spectacular sunset over Alhambra
We were fortunate enough to get wonderful front row seats in a bar overlooking the Alhambra
The buildings of Alhambra were glowing in the late sun
We made a booking at Estrellas de San Nicolas which was highly recommended by the lady in charge of front desk of our hotelThe restaurant had amazing viewsWe were very pleased with our window table
