8th September 2013 Skala Loutra, Lesvos Island Time for an Excursion Ashore The Small Port of Skala Loutra Appears to have a Restaurant Conveniently Positioned by the Water A Sheltered Inner Port for the Local Dinghy Fleet Fisherman Spend a lot of Time Mending their Nets Once Again we Happen to be in the same Port as the Swiss Couple with the Unmistakable Aluminium Green Yacht Ric Strides Ahead for our 30 minute Walk to the Village on the Hill A Well Irrigated Olive Orchard Other Old Olive Trees have Survived well Over the Years Without Irrigation !! The Village Above the Harbour Relies Mainly on the Olive Industry All the Narrow Streets Lead to One Place The Local Church Stands High Above the Village Overlooking the Channel that Leads to the Enclosed Gulf of Kolpos Yeras The Surrounding Hills are All Covered with Olive Trees This Determined Elderly Lady Keeps Herself Fit by Still Doing her Own Shopping We Stop for a Quick Coffee in the Local Cafe/Bar with the Impressive Machinery Outside A Quicker Way Back to the Harbour is by the Road Through the Olive Trees Well Travelled Canadian Sailors, Michael and Gloria Come Aboard Happy Birthday Pete !!
