30th September 2013 Cam Limani, Heybeliada Is to Poraz via the Golden Horn and the Bosphorus Early Morning Fisherman With Flags Flying we Leave the Sheltered Waters of Cam Limani Passing Amazing Residences on one of the Princes islands Lois Taking her Daily Dose of Vitamin D Once Close to the Busy City of Istanbul, Ferries Come and Go at a Great Pace No Shortage of Photos as we make our way towards the Golden Horn Lois and Nick no Doubt Enjoying the Experience Travelling up the Bosphorus The Architecture along the Shore is Magnificent The Ciragan Palace is Quite Splendid on the Western Shore Perfect Weather for our Second Trip up the Strait The Very Popular ‘House Hotel’ in Behind the Waterfront Restaurants The Shores are Lined with Upmarket Eateries Reina is an Exclusive Nightclub on the Bosphorus which is easily Accessible by Boat Once again we see the Savarona Attaturk’s Beautiful Sailing Vessel is now Hired out for the Rich and Famous Approaching Bebek Harbour Fishing is a Pleasant Pastime in the Summer months Rumeli Fortress Many Large Vessels are Moored in Bebek Bebek is one of the few Bays in the Bosphorus where one can Keep a Boat or Drop an Anchor Overnight On this Trip up the Bosphorus we Change Sides and Travel Along the Asian Side for a Change The Asian Side of the Bosphorus does not Appear to be as Populated or as busy as the European Side The Navy has Quite a Presence in the Bosphorus Strait Lunch is Served!! The Fishing Fleet in Action At Last to the Black Sea One of the many Huge Ships Heading into the Black Sea The Remains of an Ancient Castle on the Western end of the Strait We Approach the Busy Fishing Port called Turkeli Feneri at the Top of the Bosphorus We have Never seen so Many Fishing Boats in such a Small Port !!! Friendly Folk !! We are Amazed at the Incredible Sight of the Colourful Boats With a very Choppy Sea Outside, this Port gives Good Shelter for the Fishing Boats The Local Fishermen were very Friendly and Asked if we Wanted to Tie Up Beside their Boat Overnight We Decided it Would be Quieter for us to Return to Poraz Where we are Able to Drop an Anchor and have a Peaceful Night It was a Memorable Experience Visiting this Small Busy Fishing Port at the Entrance to the Black Sea Overnight for us Again in the Delightful Town of Poraz Leave a Reply Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
