Back to Ayvalik to do Customs for Our Departure from TurkeyLast Minute Shopping Before Our DepartureA Friendly Young Lady Packing our Supply of Assorted Nuts and Turkish DelightAfter Completing all the Running Around from Place to Place Doing Customs, we say Farewell to Alibey and to AyvalikA Pleasant Mooring Between the Islands of the Ayvalik ArchipelagoCrossing the Short Distance to Lesvos Island we Motor to the North Eastern Tip in Calm ConditionsAlong the North Coast we had the Wind Almost Beam OnThe Tangaroa Handled Herself very well Under these Windy ConditionsThe Decks got a Very Good Wash During the Trip Too !!Finally Our Destination, Mithimna (Known Locally by Molivos) Comes into ViewThe Amazing 14th Century Castle Perched on top of the Hill Stands Proudly Over Ak MolivosApproaching the Mithimna PortWe Fortunately Arrive Before Sunset to Experience the Wonderful Colours Over the Town and the Castle BeyondSunset over the Mithimna HarbourAll Spaces were Taken on the Seawall, so the Harbour Master Instructed us to Moor Along the Pier by the RestaurantsAmazing Cloud Formations Over the Fishing Boats in the HarbourThe Tangaroa in a Prime Position by the Restaurants in the Mithimna HarbourThe Small Cobbled Streets Adjacent to the Port are Very Quaint with Tasteful Shops and Small BarsBy the Harbour the Small Streets are all Cluttered with Small Eateries and Cute ShopsBefore Dinner we take a Stroll Around the PortMany Small Fishing Boats and Dinghies Line the Water’s Edge of the Inner PortThe Captain’s Table ( Run by Theo and Melinda who was Born in Australian but Departed at the age of 3) has the Best Food we have Tried in Months
For Dessert we Try the Seahorse HotelA Delicious Finish to the EveningThe Cutest and the Most Immaculately Kept Fishing Boat in the Inner PortUnfortunately we have to Depart in the Morning as there is no longer a Customs Agent in MithimnaA Great View of the Castle from the Stern of the Boat
