26th August 2013 Karaada Island to Foca via Karaburun After a Couple of Lovely Days we Depart the Small South Eastern Bay on Karaada Island Karaada Island is a Small Turkish Island in the Ildir Korfezi, North the of Cesme, a Very Popular Holiday Area for Turkish People The Turkish Flag Proudly Displayed on the Island The Plan for Us Today is to Continue North While there is very Little Breeze Karaburun Lighthouse The Rugged Coastline of the Karaburun Peninsular Buyuk Adasi off Karaburun in the North East of the Peninsular The Small Town of Karaburun Iskelesi The Miniature Harbour Only Caters for Small Visiting Boats if there is a Space Available Some of the Cute Little Fishing Boats have Colourful Awnings With Minimal Facilities for Shopping we Hire a Taxi and go to a Nearby Supermarket for Some Fresh Groceries Cluttered by Tiny Fishing Boats, the Tiny Harbour Hardly Seems Big Enough for Visitors A Cool Drink in the Local Cafe Before Our Departure It Would have been Nice to Spend More Time Here However if the Wind Increases, it Would be Uncomfortable for us to Stay Overnight A House by the Water Almost Engulfed by Vines Before Entering the Harbour at Foca we Anchor at a Nearby Islet for a Swim On the Shore at Incir Adasi were the Ancient Remains of an Old Port This Layed Back Fisherman with Earphones and Listening to Music, Drags a Few Fishing Lines Behind his Small Boat Foca Township with the Conspicuous Castle which is still Under Restoration There is Not a lot of Space for Visiting Yachts Along the Town Pier so we Anchor in the Middle of the Bay An Unfortunate Boat Owner at the Boat Yards in the Foca Harbour From Our Mooring in the Bay we can Watch the World go by!! Locals and Visitors Seem to Enjoy Swimming and Walking Around the Foreshore The Town’s Horse Drawn Buggy is a Popular Excursion Around the Shoreline for Tourists The Houses on the Hillside in Foca by Night Leave a Reply Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
