2019-08-11 Cala Portese, Isola di Caprera, La Maddalena Islands to Sardamar Marina, Cannigione, Sardinia, Italy
Another wonderful day in the beautiful La Maddalena IslandsToo early this morning for the beach goersOur local friends well set up for another day in paradiseBefore an armada of boats arrive in Cala Portese, we make an early start to return to Golfo di Arzachena in the north east of SardiniaWe anchor on the inside of Isolotto dei Fichi d’India, a tiny islet on the western side in the Golfo di ArzachenaIt is not long before Anthony and Betsey are off on the paddle boardOn the small islet there are many large prickly pears bushes and a wrought iron statue of San Giovanni Battista, the patron saint of Cannigione and La ConiaLa Conia stretches for several kilometres along the beautiful west coast of the Golfo di ArzachenaWe have anchored along the La Conia coast on many occasions in the pastFor a change of scenery and with a less crowded beach we head across to Cala dei Ginepri situated on the eastern coast of the Golfo di ArzachenaThe nearby crowded public beach, Spaiaggia delle Saline is apparently one of the most popular in northern SardiniaBetsey’s favourite picnic lunch under the front awning on the TangaroaMore swimming and fun in the water after lunch
Leaving the lovely anchorage, we head the short distance southwest to CannigioneOnce again we return to the Sardamar Marina as we were still waiting on a part for our watermakerOn arrival we made sure we got a load of washing done and making the most of the marina’s power and water!!Early evening we went into the town for dinnerMussels are a very popular dish on most of the local restaurant menusWe often order the grilled fish with vegetables in most restaurants when dining in ports The ravioli with fresh tomato looked delicious tooAfter dinner we took Betsey to the local children’s show where there were plenty of attractions to enjoy
One more ride on the dodgem cars before we leave!!
