2018-08-14 Cala Estany d’en Mas to Cala Caragol, Mallorca, Islas Baleares, Spain
This morning we make an early start at 7 am from our night in Cala Estany d’en MasIn overcast conditions we motor down the coast, passing one of our favourite bays, Cala Barcas. This morning there seems to be a number of yachts on anchor in the bayWith a north easterly wind behind us we decide to keep continuing down the coastIn the distance looking back are dark and heavy clouds
Looking ahead fortunately looks a lot clearerAnother popular bay on this beautiful coast is Cala MondragoThe east coast of Mallorca has many wonderful bays however during peak times, especially July and August it is too busy for us to anchor safely
Finally we reach Punta Salinas, the southern tip of Mallorca which actually is on the south eastern side of the islandThe first bay west of Punta Salinas is Cala Caragol where we anchor and intend waiting for the best conditions to make a crossing to IbizaWith nice sunny and warm conditions here in the south of the island, we spend a lot of time swimming today
There is a lovely beach here in Cala Caragol which in areas is quite private and not busy
Once the many day tripper boats had departed, the bay became reasonably quiet with only a few boats remaining overnightAnother interesting sunset at dinnertime
