This morning we make an early start as we discovered a problem with our generatorAt 6.30 am we leave this wonderful bay to go to Mahon where we have a mechanic organised to fix the problemThe sun appears 15 minutes later
Great early morning reflections as we pass Cabo Cavalleria and continue south eastIt is a wonderful time of the day to travel when the conditions are so calm
In the distance we see Cabo Favaritx the north east point of MenorcaThis lighthouse would be the most photographed of all the lighthouses in the Balearics …. by me anyway!!By 9 am we arrive at the entrance to the port of Mahon30 minutes later travelling at the required very slow speed we approach Mahon, the capital of Menorca
Entering the large port we discover two cruise ships visiting todayWe continue on to where we have booked a marina berth for a couple of daysIt is actually great to be back in Mahon ….. it is a lovely town!We head towards Marina Menorca at the end of the harbour where we had booked a berth and had stayed on a previous occasionOnce again we were placed in the same berth as we had last time when in MahonWhile things were being organised fixing the issue with the generator, I took the opportunity to do a few loads of washing and clean the boat from one end to another!!After a busy day we decided to head out in the eveningUnder instruction Ric poses with an anchor!!We continue walking along the harbour passing many restaurants
Finally we decide to go to an Asian inspired restaurant called ‘Way’We are given a nice table for two overlooking the harbour and a nice Spanish wine is orderedWe order some dumplings to start with, which were really deliciousThe owner of the restaurant personally came around and chatted with all the customers one by one and after speaking with us he sent some fresh Vietnamese rolls to the table for us to try …… wonderful PR …..rarely occurs even in fine dining restaurants!!For main course we order a favourite of ours ….. Thai chicken curryWe even managed a fruit tart for dessert!!!
We decide to take the scenic route back to the marina by going up into the old town
By the time we got back to the Tangaroa it was almost 1 am !!!
