2018-06-10 Cala Pi to Porto Petro, Mallorca, Islas Baleares, Spain
Mid morning with overcast conditions we depart our overnight anchorage in Cala Pi
All but one of the other yachts which moored overnight, have already left the bayHeading east we pass waterfront houses perched on the rugged coastline near Cala PiAn hour later we pass Punta Sa with it’s conspicuous lighthouseSoon in the distance we can see the south eastern point of MallorcaThe lighthouse situated at Punta SalinasOnce around the flat, low rocky promontory, we head in a north easterly direction up the coastThe rugged beauty of this barren coastline is spectacularConditions today are not the calmest for travellingNot far up the coast we pass Puerto de Cala Figuera, a very small narrow harbour, mostly catering for small fishing boats
Not much further up the coast we enter Porto PetroOnce settled on a mooring which was available in the bay, we head ashore by dinghy to get provisions and have a brief look around the small townPorto Petro is a quite a delightful small town which has a secure, sheltered harbour, a few shops, small supermarkets and restaurants
Once back aboard the Tangaroa, Ric prepares a lovely chicken and vegetable green curry for our dinner…..with plenty to spareSeveral other boats pick up nearby moorings for the nightAnother lovely sunset……
