2016-09-05 Cala Futadera to Blanes, Costa Brava, Spain Early morning peace in Cala Futadera Fish feeding frenzy Looking north up the coast Once again we head off towards our next destination The popular catamaran, Sensation, day tripper cruise already in full swing We continue back south down the coast passing the Guiverola Resort The popular beach of Cala Guiverola Punta de Sant Aguilera with it’s spectacular houses Cala Pola another small beach nearby Again we pass Tossa de Mar which is difficult to visit by boat due to the number of laid mooring buoys in the harbour and the constant ferries coming and going Looking up to the Tossa de Mar 100 year old lighthouse which is situated at the highest point in Villa Vella the old part of the town Continuing on we pass many modern luxurious houses perched precariously on hillsides by the sea During our travels along the Costa Brava coast we have seen thousands of small private and rented boats like this one pottering along the shoreline The beautiful beach at Cala Canyelles More beautiful homes hugging the hillsides at Punta de L’Ugil The D’En Plaja Castle which is a private residence in La Montgoda was built between 1935 and 1940 by a Girona industrialist, Narcís Plaja Punta des Calafats Plaja de Lloret Looking back to the very popular holiday resort town of Lloret de Mar Platja de Fenals in the south of Llorent de Mar The spectacular residence of the Santa Clotilde Gardens on the coast by Punta de Sant Agulla, south of Llorent de Mar Cala de Sant Francese We finally arrive at Blanes, our destination today Looking back to the double seawall by the Port de Blanes With the conditions very favorable we decide to anchor off the beach with a couple of other visiting yachts Our pilot book stated anchorage was permitted between the Sa Palomera Rocks and the Port de Blanes entrance Looking towards entrance to Port de Blanes which houses a yacht club and a marina We were very pleased with our anchorage and the lovely view of the town and 11th Century single tower Castell de Sant Joan high up on the hill in the background A small local fishing boat arriving back to port with a huge flock of seagulls waiting for some supper Leave a Reply Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
