2016-09-04 Cala Fosca to Cala Futadera, Costa Brava, Spain
It is very peaceful and very quiet in Cala Fosca this morningIn a few hours all the bays will be full of boats and the beaches will once again become very crowded with keen sun worshipers. Nevertheless we decide to pull our anchor up and slowly continue our journeyJust south we pass a beach in the bay, Cala Margarida which is by Palamos, the main town of the areaNo doubt this is a popular place to stay while on holiday being so close to the main townBy Cala Margarida is the Marina de PalamosRic was keen to keep moving so we pass by the town of Palamos which had a cruise ship visiting for the dayThe popular tourist destination of Sant Pol BeachRock climbing at Via Ferrata Cala del Moli just north of Sant Feliu de GuixolsWe approach the port of Sant Feliu de Guixols
Sant Feliu de Guixols which has a busy tourism industry still proudly has a traditional cork industryWe pass Canyet de Mar….and the resort town of Cala SalionsWe pass the lovely bay of Cala FutaderaA large home blended beautifully high up into the cliffsideWe approach Tossa de Mar where we were planning to anchor and stay overnightThe bay at Tossa de Mar was full of small mooring buoys and there was nowhere for a boat of our size to comfortably anchor without getting in the way of the numerous day tripped boats…disappointing….however…We tried the bay on the outside however it would have been only comfortable with absolutely still conditions!!We decide to head back to one of the lovely bays we passed on the wayCala Futadera looked very pleasant and there was still plenty of room, so we dropped our anchor in the centre of the bayIt wasn’t long before the bay started filling up with many small boats…and a large one with a crowd aboard…fortunately they only stayed an hour!!Another smaller Menorquin moored nearby!!
At one stage we counted 50 boats in the bay!!Lovely young girls being towed back to the portBy 7pm we were the only boat left in the bay!!Another pleasant and peaceful evening
