2016-08-27 Collioure, Languedoc-Roussillon, France We wake up to a beautiful warm and clear day in Collioure We try to make a booking for lunch at La Balette however it was unfortunately booked out We decide to go ashore again today check out some sights we missed yesterday We visit the Royal Castle, Château Royal de Collioure Great views north towards the port entrance from the castle Although the site of the castle has a long history dating back to a seige in 673, the castle which stands today was built around 1207 and became a royal castle in the mid 1300’s Day tripper boats bring visitors to and from Collioure several times a day From the castle there are amazing views in all directions Looking across to the Catholic Church, Eglise Notre Dame des Anges Canon balls on display found on the site The history Leave a Reply Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
