This morning the wind had abated and the conditions and the water were calm once againWe decide to stay another night and spend the day catching up on some other boat maintenanceEd and his partner, Chris drop by the Tangaroa to make sure the mechanic that works for Ed had completed the job to our satisfactionIn the evening we hail a taxi by the port to take us to a restaurant we had bookedWe conveniently arrive at Vallon des Auffes at sunsetThe approaching sunset at the memorial looked amazingManaging to get a booking at the popular restaurant called Fon Fon, we arrive in Vallon des AuffesWe also arrive in time to capture the last rays of sunshine in the tiny portThe pretty village is buzzing with plenty of people this eveningWe were lucky to get a table when we booked as Fon Fon is more than often booked outFon Fon has a lovely view over the tiny quaint fishing villageAs it was our last night in Marseille, we had to try the bouillabaisse which is a famous traditional fish soup of this areaTo begin our waiter brings us an Olive tapanade and some rouilleThe rich bouillabaisse broth and cooked fish arriveFirstly slices of toasted bread laden with rouille is added to the soup and then the fish is either added to the broth or just eaten seperatelySeveral different kinds of fish and pototo accompany the bouillabaisse brothA very pleasant red to accompany our delicious but filling main courseA wonderful light and refreshing dessert featuring mango to share between the two of usA very friendly Italian couple, Alessandro and Francoise who were sitting beside us in the restaurant
