Today we decide to go into the old town for a late lunchMost of the large yachts that were moored at the entrance overnight departed the port very early in the morningEntering the port at this time, 1pm is less congested than when there is a major exit between 10am and middayThe harbour is lined with pretty pastel coloured housesSt Tropez attracts some quite incredible looking large motor vessels!!

L’Opera is a favourite lunch or dinner venue for the rich and famousCelebrity spotters hover around the chic restaurantAlong the foreshore of the harbour are numerous restaurants and shops catering to the thousands of tourists visiting the town every dayAlthough this restaurant stands out being totally decked out in red, it is a little hard on the eyes being a patron!!The back streets are also full of small eateries and shopsLe Dit Vin is a very popular casual bar and restaurant in St TropezFor those interested in shopping there are many exclusive shops in townEglise paroissiale Notre-Dame de l’AssomptionThe unmistakable bell tower that stands proudly above the famous townDeciding it was time to have our late lunch, there was no shortage of choices along the waterfrontWe found a table at Le Quai, both facing the water, out of the hot sun with fine spray mist cooling us down!Le Quai is a chic restaurant all decked out with mirrors to capture the full view of all the vessels parked along the foreshore
The speciality of the restaurant for lunch was the fabulous sushi which we had to try and really enjoyed!While in St Tropez we also had to experience the local famous Tarte Tropezienne made with a light brioche dough and served with custardLate afternoon before dinner, the restaurant becomes a bar for those wanting to watch the world go by and the fiasco of many large boats being moored while having a cocktail or two
The grand Chanel HouseNearby is the Chateau St Tropez – looks amazing on the internetWe head back to our little dinghy after a visit to the local supermarketWe feel dwarfed as we pass by the large vessels still in the harbourThe Quai where we had a lovely late lunch!!
As we depart a few large motor yachts are arrivingIt can be very congested at the narrow entrance to the portFinally back to our little palace!!Once again the super yachts start their usual parade of queuing up to enter the port for the nightSunset over Golfe de St Tropez
