Quite a spectacular view to wake up to in the morning!!After the siege of Nice this impressive citadel was built in Villefranche by the Franco Turkish armies in the mid 1500’sNearby on Mont Alban a fort (Fort Mont Alban) was also built to also secure the siteAlong the foreshore with the tall houses of the old town of Villefranche is a popular destination for visitors to the bayQuite a few visiting yachts anchor near the old townRic goes ashore once again to visit the nice local patisserie with the exceptional apple and walnut tartBystander of Man – an unusual name for this traditional old boatA sea mist hovers above the tall cliffs of the next bay, Beaulieu-sur-merAfter a couple of very pleasant relaxing nights on anchor in Rade de Villefranche, we depart the bay and go east to have a night in the marina in the nearby Beaulieu-sur-merAt the entrance to Villefranche another cruise ship called ‘Disney Magic’ is on anchorBeaulieu-sur-mer in the peak season is always full of large motor yachts. Today was no exception!‘Arctic P’, an Australian owned boat was also moored Beaulieu-sur-mer todayThe Arctic P which was originally an icebreaker vessel is believed to have had major refits which include a swimming pool, a Jacuzzi, new galley and luxury cabins – sounds great!!We decide to go into the marina for the night as we have a gentleman coming in the morning from Oceanpro, a training organisation to help us with info on ICC Accreditation which is required for us to do the French canalsWe approach the Beaulieu-sur-mer marinaThe marina staff lead us to our berth in the marina
