2016-06-15 Marina Cannigione, Porto Palma, Isola Caprera, Maddalena Islands, Sardinia After 3 days of wind in northern Sardinia a crowd of tourists assemble to go to the La Maddelena Islands for the day on one of the many ferries leaving from Cannigione We also prepare to go out for a couple of days while as the weather had improved We depart the Cannigione port once again and plan to return when our new boat batteries arrive from Milan Looking towards the lovely town of Cannigione As we depart the port another yacht arrives On the western shore of Golfo di Arzachena just north of Cannigione is the lovely district of Laconia We have passed this place many a few times and have not quite worked out what it is!!! Once again we approach Capo Ferro the north west tip of Sardinia Porto Cervo, the port for the rich and famous on the Costa Smeralda Just south of Porto Cervo is the large bay called Golfo Pero By the white beach we drop anchor and have a swim and relax in the magnificent turquoise coloured water In this exclusive area homes have been tastefully built to blend into the surrounding landscape There is no shortage of super yachts around this area ….or expensive hotels and resorts Looking south towards Isole Nibani In the distance we could see Mt Zoppu which is by Carla Volpe another bay used by the rich and famous during July and August Back past some fine homes on the Costa Smeralda We decide to return back to La Maddalena Islands Firstly we call in to the busy Carla Portese on the south east coast of Caprera Island Closer to the beach we drop the anchor We have crystal clear blue water to swim in again this afternoon Later we make the decision to leave Carla Portese and go to the nearby Porto Palma, which will give us better comfort overnight When we arrive in the bay we spotted another Australian flag on a brand new Gunfleet 58 Porto Palma on the south of Caprera Island is a very safe and comfortable overnight anchorage in the La Maddalena Islands Interesting clouds at dusk tonight Leave a Reply Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
