As we were not leaving port today, we decide to have a day of sightseeingAnother day of the very strong mistral wind!!After hiring a car we set off to visit some of the ancient sites in the close proximity to CannigioneClose to the small town of Arzachena there are numerous Nuraghe sitesThe first site we visit is the Albucciu Nuraghe south east of ArzachenaLess than 100 m away we visit the Giant’s Tomb Moru
Ric patiently waiting, so we can continue on to the next siteAround the sites there are fields of wildflowers and old olive trees
Our next stop is the Tomba di Giganti Li LolghiThe ancient burial site dates back to around 1800 BC
The most important site of the area is the Li Muri Necropolis which is the oldest and dates back to approximately to 3500 BC
At the information and ticket sale hut for one of the sites, we find a very contented visitor in a box having an afternoon napAnother ancient site we visit is the Tomba di Giganti Coddu Ecchju
The ancient site, which is bordered by a large vineyard can clearly be seen from a distanceFinally we visit the Nuraghe La Prisgiona which was quite close to the Coddu Ecchju
We then continue south to the town of OlbiaAn unusual cloud appears in the skyWe stop by the port in Olbia and a very large super motor yacht almost fills one side of the quayAfter we parked the car, it was time to briefly explore the town centre before returning to Cannigione
