2016-06-05 Marina Cannigione to Carla Nord, Isola Budelli, La Maddalena Islands, Sardinia Giovanni from the marina says goodbye to us all, as we depart We had a good spot on the quay here at the marina We depart from our stay in Cannigione marina John takes over the controls of the Tangaroa On our way out of Golfo di Arzachena we motor past quite an exclusive resort Once again passing houses built over the unusual, incredible rock formations With our first guests aboard we motor towards Isola Caprera, (one of the La Maddelena Islands ) and our favourite bay Cala Coticcio This morning there are already several small boats in the small stunning bay The first swim for our guests and also for us this season The water is as turquoise blue in the bay, just as we remembered it to be last year Numerous more boats arrive which made the small bay much busier than we experienced last season A small pooch takes a dive from a neighbouring boat This lifejacketed pooch loved the water and was in and out of the water like an excited child This is the first day we have had warm enough temperatures to actually go for a swim John and Angela, our friends from Melbourne, certainly enjoying the warm conditions today Time to depart as we plan to seek a good mooring for the night We make our way to Isola Budelli via Carla Santa Maria Once settled in Carla Nord on Isola Budelli we were happy with our overnight anchorage There are quite a few reefs and very shallow water in the Deadman’s Passage, which is what this area is generally known by The rock formations on all the La Maddelena Islands are all very rugged and have a similar appearance By early evening most of the private day tripper boats have returned to their marinas, which left a few boats intending to stay overnight After another swim we all relax before Ric heads into the galley Ric has been busy cooking up a storm, this time one of his special chicken and vegetable curries which was absolutely delicious as usual!!
