2016-06-01 Baia Repatarta, Capo Testa to Golfo delle Saline, Sardinia
We made a quick decision to depart Baia Reparata and put up with about 20 minutes of discomfort before having the wind and the waves behind usThe seas were very choppy and confused as we approached the western side of nearby popular port of St Theresa GalluraContinuing on we we head towards Punta Marmorata
Once around Punta Marmorata we had the wind behind us and motoring conditions were much more comfortableThe sailing off Spargi Island is great on a windy day such as this!!The day tripper boats are still out however with few aboardThe lighthouse at Punta SardegnaAs we head for our destination we pass La Maddelena the main port on the beautiful Maddelena Islands
The bear on the rock can hardly be missed as we approach Golfo di ArzachenaThis area of Sardinia has the most amazing rock formations which apparently have been formed into incredible shapes by the windThe lighthouse on Capo d’Orso near the entrance to Golfo di ArzachenaWe arrive in Saline Bay at the head of Golfo di Arzachena. There is a large, yet not unpleasant looking resort in the bay however not one guest can be seen apart from the beach attendantFinally the sun appears for a moment in the afternoon which shows the lovely clear blue water of the bayWe decided to overnight here before going into the marina at Cannigione further down in the large Golfo di Arzachena
