2016-05-18 Portus Karalis, Cagliari to Porto Malfatano, Sardinia We depart the marina and get a nice goodbye from our neighbours Porto Karalis was a very central, well organised and fairly secure marina in Cagliari Cagliari with it’s distinct Spanish architecture is definitely the most cosmopolitan and sophisticated town of Sardinia For the last time this year at least, we head out through the port markers We pass one of many oil tankers that is moored by the oil refinery in the Gulf of Cagliari Sarroch Oil Refinery We continue down the coast towards Pula where the ancient site of Nora is situated The tower of Isola Macario Then behind is the tower of Capo di Pula which is by the ancient site We pass part of the ancient site of Nora with it’s ancient ruins and one standing column which clearly can be seen Beyond we can see a group having a guided tour of Nora (as we did when we visited) by the remaining standing four columns of a fine villa Continuing south west along the southern coast we pass many towers perched on almost every point This area has wonderful beaches with white sand The lighthouse on Capo Spartivento one of the most southern tips of Sardinia There are a couple of yachts moored in East Cove, a tiny bay east of Isola Teredda We drop anchor in the lovely bay on the west side of Isola Teredda A couple of yachts sail in and out of the bay Ric decides to move into the larger bay called Porto Malfatano Overnight breezes would give is a calmer night here A beautiful sunset tonight Leave a Reply Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
