As we had completed most of the preparation for our departure, this morning we take a 30 minute trip by car to Cagliari, the nearby capital city of SardiniaThe architecture of the towns and cities of the Italian island of Sardinia resemble their mainland counterpartsWe park our hire car down by the port and head on foot uphill towards the old part of the city
The Tower of the Elephant was built in the early 14th century and is only one of a couple of towers still remaining to guard the old city of CagliariWe climb the four wooden floors of the tower to view the spectacular views over the city

After a day of sightseeing in Cagliari we take the highway east along the coast towards Quartu Sant’Elena where the marina is situatedWe arrive back at the Marina Di Capitana……and back to the TangaroaLater we venture to the bar and restaurant for dinner at the marina
