2015-10-05 Marina di Villaputzu, Porto Corallo to Cala Pira, Punta Cappuccini, Sardinia, Italy
Marina di VillaputzuSituated in south east Sardinia, Porto Corallo gets very busy in the high season
Once again we continue south down the east coast of SardiniaWe pass the lighthouse at Capo FerratoAlmost to the south eastern tip of Sardina lies the island of Serpentara
The island is quite barren apart from the remains of an ancient lookoutThe island is situated in the protected marine area of Capo CarbonaraDiving is very popular here around Serpentara Island and it is also a favourite haunt for dolphinsAs there were no secure bays for overnight anchorage we head the short distance towards the coastWe approach Cala PiraThe beautiful turquoise water of Cala Pira looked so invitingThis area is no doubt a popular holiday destination in southern SardiniaAnother old lookout on Punta CappucciniWe drop anchor here for the night and take the opportunity to have a long swim in the much cooler water here
