2015-10-05 Marina di Villaputzu, Porto Corallo to Cala Pira, Punta Cappuccini, Sardinia, Italy Marina di Villaputzu Situated in south east Sardinia, Porto Corallo gets very busy in the high season Once again we continue south down the east coast of Sardinia We pass the lighthouse at Capo Ferrato Almost to the south eastern tip of Sardina lies the island of Serpentara The island is quite barren apart from the remains of an ancient lookout The island is situated in the protected marine area of Capo Carbonara Diving is very popular here around Serpentara Island and it is also a favourite haunt for dolphins As there were no secure bays for overnight anchorage we head the short distance towards the coast We approach Cala Pira The beautiful turquoise water of Cala Pira looked so inviting This area is no doubt a popular holiday destination in southern Sardinia Another old lookout on Punta Cappuccini We drop anchor here for the night and take the opportunity to have a long swim in the much cooler water here Leave a Reply Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
