Beautiful clear and still conditions in Olbia this morning
It is time for us to leave the Olbia Marina and continue south
The large ferries are lined up like soldiers in the port todayThe corner of the marina where we have spent the past few daysLooking towards the entrance to the gulf we see another large ferry arriving in the port
The mussel farms in the Olbian Gulf certainly dominate the bayOn our departure we pass the lighthouse at the entrance to the gulfAs we continue south we pass some spectacular rugged coastlineWe pass Isola Tavolara which has a small safe anchorage on a narrow cape in the south west of the islandOur lovely Tasmanian huon pine table has been used quite a lot this yearWe pass several seaside towns with the conspicuous ancient lookoutsAs we travel south down the north east coast of Sardinia we come across some more quite spectacular coastal scenery
The picturesque town of Santa Maria Navarrese which is close to our destination, the port of ArbataxThe group of islands, called Isola dell’Ogliastra, close to Arbatax seems to be a popular day anchorage for local boats
Sailing is quite popular in the large bay by ArbataxWe approach the central east coast port of Arbatax
A berth is organised for us in the marinaWe are berthed amongst many of the local boats
Looking back to the entrance to the port with the spectacular rugged mountain range in the background
