We conveniently caught the small tourist train to take us up to the old walled townThe western end of the port of BonifacioWe were able to get a few good shots of the boat on our way upWe approach the large fortress that overlooks the port
The train took us out towards the entrance to the harbour where we had a clear view of the circular bay called Calanque de l’Arenella
We decide to tackle the King of Aragon stairway189 steps to the bottom….and 189 steps back to the top!!The steps are a popular exercise before lunchOnce at the bottom of the steps we follow a pathway carved into the limestone cliffs which takes you to a grotto
The grotto where fresh drinking water was collected in ancient times is now a shrine to all the visitors who have visited the spot
Kate has been shopping!!What a fabulous lunch stopLooking to the south east point of Corsica, Capo PertusatuThe limestone cliffs are an amazing sight around Bonifacio‘La Manichella’ high up in the old town is a great place for lunch and a game of PentanqueThe busy square by ‘Le Time’
